+ Is a reservation required?
No reservation is required to come to our cafe and play games from our shelf. You will need a reservation for a private room or one of our game experiences. Which can be made at the link below within 1 hour of an open reservation slot.

+ How do I play games here?
There are a few ways to play games at Tavern of Tales. You can pick up a game from our shelf of free games to play in the cafe or reserve a private game room stocked with more complicated games.
+ Can I bring my own games?
Sure! Our private rooms are best for larger scale games.
+ Do you host Friday Night Magic?
We do not currently do anything related to Magic on Friday night. Our big Magic days are Wednesday Night Commander, Saturday Afternoon Commander, and our League events on Sunday.
+ Can I play DND here?
There are a few ways to play DND here. First, you can join our on going store campaign. You can join our discord for more information. Second, you can bring your regular group in to Rent a room. Currently, Tavern of Tales does not offer DND as a game experience, so you will have to find your own DM.
+ Is there a time / table limit?
90 minute table times after 6pm on Fridays & Saturdays.
+ Is there an age limit at Tavern of Tales?
Any person under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times, no one under the age of 21 years of age is allowed at the Tavern after 7pm.
+ Can I bring my animal?
We know animals can be great, but not at the Tavern.
Only service dogs that are trained to assist people with disabilities are permitted on licensed establishments which include outdoor patios. Please note emotional support animals and pets do not qualify as service dogs. Please note this is not a new policy.

+ What types of ID do you accept?
As per the City of Boston, the only forms of acceptable ID at any establishment serving or selling alcohol are as follows:
- A Massachusetts Driver’s License;
- A Massachusetts Liquor Identification Card;
- A Massachusetts Identification Card;
- A Passport Issued by the United States or a government that is officially recognized by the United States;
- A Passport Card for a Passport issued by the United States; and
- A Military Identification Card.

Sure! To play your own games at the Tavern requires a private room due to space constraints. You can book one by clicking “Reservations” above. Please note that we are a bar and spills happen, so bring them at your own risk!

Animals are not allowed indoors, but with the recent change to Boston law, dogs are allowed on our patio. Check here regarding the rules for dog patios
